Daily Run: They Can’t All Be Good

August 16, 2008 at 9:35 am | Posted in Daily Run | Leave a comment

Time of Day: 6:30 AM

Weather: Cooler and less humid. Very nice.

Duration: 91 min.

Estimated Distance (based on assumed pace of 7:35/mile): 12 miles

Notes: This was not an enjoyable run, but I guess that happens. I was, however, expecting a wonderful long run inspired by the Olympics. Maybe next week. Dr. W. warned me that my IT band might be sore after he worked it so hard yesterday, and I certainly felt it today in the second half of my run. Both legs felt pretty bad, actually. I run an out and back course, so there’s not shortening a bad run once I’ve turned around (something I secretly like about my trail). I had bouts of decent running throughout the 12 miles and ended up finishing well enough. I’ll need to do some extra icing and rolling out today.

Does anyone do ice baths? I can’t make myself.
